September Museum Meet Up in New Castle
DMA Museum Meet Up at the New Castle Historical Society on September 14th
Please join us for drinks and conversation at our next Museum Meet Up on Thursday, September 14th at 4:00 PM, hosted by the New Castle Historical Society.
DMA’s Museum Meet Ups are opportunities for museum folks from across the state to gather together for conversation in a casual environment at one of our member sites.
September's Meet Up will be held at The Arsenal, located at the New Castle Historical Society. The Arsenal was built by the federal government in 1809 as relations with England deteriorated. Today the Arsenal is the headquarters for the New Castle Historical Society, and serves as a visitor center and community event space for Historic New Castle.
All DMA events are free for current members. Nonmembers are always welcome, for just a small fee. To become a member, see here for instructions. We hope you're able to join us!

2022 Annual Meeting: Reconnect
DMA was thrilled to host a successful Annual Meeting at the beautiful Killens Pond State Park—our first in-person event since before the pandemic. Our full house of attendees reconnected with fellow museum professionals, learned tactics for effective community engagement & volunteer recruitment, and heard about exciting new community-involved projects at museums across the state.
This year's Annual Meeting featured speakers from organizations of all sizes throughout the state:
Eileen Hazard, Mt. Cuba Center
Alli Schell, Marshall Steam Museum
Amelia Wiggins, Delaware Art Museum
David McDonald, Rehoboth Beach Museum
Barbara Slavin, Historic Village in Ocean View
Meg Hutchins & Carolanne Deal, Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs

Presentation by Amelia Wiggins, Director of Communications & Engagement at the Delaware Art Museum
